Well, we didn't see that one coming. Four days after his birth, baby Cambridge has a name. Meet His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles.
Prince Louis of Cambridge, who was born on April 23rd 2018 at 11.01am, has a name steeped in memories for the House of Windsor. Lord Louis Mountbatten, uncle to Prince Philip and great uncle to Prince Charles, was a much loved family member who lost his life in an IRA bomb attack in 1979. His closeness to Charles was well noted and the Prince of Wales looked to him as something of a mentor so it's rather touching that his own grandson bears the name of a man he loved so well.

Louis is also one of Prince William's middle names and was given by the Duke and Duchess to their first son, too (George Alexander Louis). The Earl of Wessex also has it among his names (Edward Antony Richard Louis) but it's a rare pick as a royal first name. So after all the speculation, now we know. Louis, a little brother for George and Charlotte.
