It was a royal week all about the new generation. Throughout the past seven days, the real regal stars of the show have been the youngest members of dynasties across the continent. From new arrivals to landmark events, this has been a time when the spotlight has shone firmly on the younger royals and they were more than ready for their close ups.
The week ended with a thank you photo or three from Princess Madeleine of Sweden who welcomed her third child six weeks ago. The princess, along with her husband Chris O'Neill, featured in a new set of images with their little girl, Adrienne, who was born on March 9th 2018.

In the Netherlands, the traditional King's Day events turned into a celebration of princesses as the three daughters of Willem-Alexander and Maxima turned into little superstars on their dad's big day.

Heir to the throne, Amalia, led the way. The Princess of Orange, who is now fourteen, looked every inch a poised royal as she celebrated King's Day with her family in Groningen. Her siblings, twelve year old Alexia and ten year old Ariane, were showing all the princess skills, too, as they enjoyed a special time out with their family.
The girls had only just stopped stealing the show in a new set of official photos, released by the Dutch Royal Court to mark the fifth anniversary of the accession of King Willem-Alexander who became his country's first male monarch in over a century on April 30th 2013. But while he might have struck a small victory for the chaps, these photos were all about the girls in a set of photos for the history books.
And of course, in London, Louis was born. The new fifth in line to the throne arrived on Monday 23rd April 2018 and was a photo star within hours as his proud mum and dad, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, brought him home from hospital not long after he was born.
It also meant another glimpse of Prince George and Princess Charlotte who arrived to meet Louis once school was out. One week, a whole new generation of royals taking centre stage. The future starts here.
