The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.
The announcement of an imminent new arrival came just after 8.30 this morning when Kensington Palace issued a statement saying that the duchess was in ''the early stages of labour''. It added that Kate travelled to the hospital, where her two older children were born, by car. The Duke of Cambridge is with her.
The Duchess of Cambridge announced her third pregnancy in September. Her due date has long been rumoured to be April 23rd. The new baby will be fifth in line to the throne, regardless of gender, and will be a very welcome sibling for Prince George, now four, and Princess Charlotte, who is two. Wishing Kate all the luck in the world for a speedy and safe delivery.
