The Prince of Wales hosted the heir to the throne of Jordan at Windsor as Crown Prince Al Hussein continued his official visit to the UK. And while the two men who will be king chatted, there was plenty of attention being given to the women preparing to be consorts.
The Princess of Wales and Princess Rajwa have known each other for some time and Kate was among the guests at Rajwa's royal wedding back in 2023. Then, the two chatted for so long in the line up after the ceremony that they had to be moved along as royal guests backed up round the rather lovely garden outside. There was plenty of time to catch up as they met again at Windsor and the talking continued to the steps of the ancient castle, even as they prepared to say goodbye.
Following the meeting, Prince William headed to RAF Benson with Crown Prince Al Hussein. There, they got an overview of the work going on there - the base provides rapid support for UK military operations around the world.
Rajwa and Hussein are in the UK for a series of official events and the Crown Prince of Jordan has already met the Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, as well as the Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, and the Chief of the Defence Staff. The focus of this royal visit to the UK is on increased co-operation between the two countries.
For her part, Rajwa has already found a princess to hang out with. At the start of her time in the UK, she headed to south London with Princess Eugenie to tour Springfield University Hospital in Tooting where they saw the work of the charity, Hospital Rooms. It places art work in mental health care settings to support healing.
The Windsor meeting came just hours after William and Kate arrived home from Northern Ireland where they carried out a day of unannounced engagements including a visit to the brand new Fire Service training centre near Cookstown in County Tyrone. They later went to a cider farm in County Armagh where they helped pick apples in the orchard.
