All the Queen's Christmas Trees: Buckingham Palace

The Christmas decorations are well and truly sparkling at Buckingham Palace as the final countdown to Christmas gets under way. The trees are trimmed, the baubles are up and the most famous royal residence around is ready for its festive close up.

As explained rather handily on the Royal Family Instagram account, the Queen usually has three trees placed in the Marble Hall at Buckingham Palace. And these are very regal firs indeed, grown at Windsor and brought to London at the height of their beauty.

They're decorated with lights and some very regal looking ornaments but don't worry, there's still room for a bauble or three at Buck House.

The Grand Staircase is traditionally trimmed with a garland and this year it features all kinds of colourful baubles adding a sprinkle of festive brightness. The trees and decorations have been showcased on the Royal Family's official social media while visitors to the recent Diplomatic Reception also got a chance to enjoy them in all their glory. And with no official word yet on where the Queen's traditional Christmas message will be recorded, we could all be treated to another dose of Buckingham Palace festive finery before the year is out.
