Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are expecting their second baby. The couple announced that their family is growing in a short statement on March 23rd. Their new baby is due in September.

Carl Philip and Sofia said, in a statement, that ''we are happy to announce that we are expecting a child, a sibling to Prince Alexander. We are looking forward to welcoming a new little member to our family.''
Carl Philip and Sofia married on June 13th 2015 after announcing their engagement in the summer of 2014. They welcomed their first child, Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil, on April 19th 2016. Alexander, Duke of Sodermanland was christened on September 9th 2016 at Drottningholm Palace.
Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia will make their first appearance since the announcement at a dinner at the Royal Palace in Stockholm this evening. The couple's second child will be sixth in line to the throne of Sweden from birth and will be a sixth grandchild for King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.
