The Queen makes a bold statement with just a few lines

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have both been vaccinated against Covid-19. The couple received the jabs at Windsor Castle on January 9th 2021.

The Queen, who is 94, and Prince Philip, 99, are both in the priority group for the vaccination in the UK. It is understood that one of their own doctors gave them the jabs at Windsor, where they have been living since autumn 2020.

A brief statement confirmed that the vaccination had taken place. Although Buckingham Palace doesn't usually discuss private medical matters, this news has been shared to avoid speculation and inaccurate reporting.

Sharing the information might also help with take up of the vaccine which is now being rolled out across the UK.
