Royal baby photos not on Twitter

The long awaited royal baby photos still haven't appeared but to keep us all happy while we're waiting, The Royal Collection has just released some never before seen snaps of Queen Elizabeth II as a little girl.  The pictures are in a new book being released as a souvenir to mark the birth of Prince George, the little boy who will one day inherit her throne.

She grew up to use far grander carriages than this one - the Queen as a child in photos never before seen and released now as part of a souvenir book to mark the arrival of her great grandson, George

A lot of the photos feature the Queen and horses, a long time passion of hers that obviously caught her imagination at an early age.  But the really noticeable thing about these pictures, as with other early snaps of Queen Elizabeth, is the warmth and happiness of the then princesss and her parents.  King George VI liked to refer to his family unit as 'us four' and that bond is as clear in the photos just released as in the later, more well known pictures that have told the Queen's early life until now.
