King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia have got a full house of royal guests this weekend for his 70th birthday celebrations
You can't have a birthday party without guests and when you're a) a king and b) turning 70 then you can expect a stellar line up for your big day, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden won't be disappointed as he enters his eighth decade - there will be kings, queens, princes and princesses as far as the eye can see.
With two new princes in his palace in the past few months, the King of Sweden has a pretty considerable family to pack into his party already. But while the youngest members of the Royal House of Sweden and new mum, Princess Sofia, probably won't be making a big appearance, there will be plenty of other regal representation although on the eve of the celebrations, the King and Queen of Norway had to decline their invitation as their country was plunged into mourning following a helicopter crash which claimed 13 lives. Instead, Princess Martha Louise and Ari Behn will represent the family.

Mary, Frederik and Margrethe will all be in Sweden for the birthday celebrations
Europe's second newest monarch, King Philippe of the Belgians, will be at the gala dinner celebration along with his wife, Queen Mathilde.
King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain will also be there - King Felipe VI of Spain is in the middle of a new series of audiences with politicians following the stalemate left by the country's general elections in December 2015. Those discussions also led to the cancellation of the planned State Visit to Britain in march 2016.

Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands will be attending the parties in Stockholm this weekend
The Grand Duke and Duchess of Lusembourg, Henri and Maria Teresa, are also expected in Stockholm to help celebrate this royal birthday.

Prince Albert II of Monaco will also be in attendance.

Confirmation of who will be attending from the UK is still pending but whoever is going along to Stockholm this weekend, they are joining a right royal turnout for a very special birthday.
