A gala dinner for a good cause

Queen Silvia has been marking the fifteenth anniversary of the World Childhood Foundation.  The events marking its milestone have been taking place across two days and included a gala dinner at Berns on September 8th where the queen was supported by her two daughters and their husbands. Glitz and glamour and all for a good cause.

The queen set up the foundation in 1999 to help children live in a safe environment.  It offers support to children who are at risk of abuse and exploitation and its projects also help families at risk of abuse and street children.  Silvia's work with the foundation has taken her all over the world and guests at the dinner included many of those who have contributed to the foundation's success over the years.

It was one of a series of events marking the anniversary and gave Victoria and Madeleine a chance to support their mum at a very special time as she reaches a milestone with a project that remains dear to her heart.
