Carl XVI Gustaf in car accident

The King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf, escaped injury earlier today after the car in which he was travelling to the airport was involved in an accident. A spokesperson for the king said that he was unhurt following the accident which left the car badly damaged.

The collision happened when the king's car was hit by another. The king's two aides were also uninjured in the accident. It is understood that King Carl XVI Gustaf continued his journey to Bromma airport where he took a flight to northern Sweden, as planned.
