Royal news, September 6th and 7th 2014

Princess Daniel of Sweden took part in the second annual sports day for children which he helped organise with the Swedish Sports Confederation.  The event, designed to encourage more children to take up sport, saw over 1,500 young people aged between 6 and 12 take part in races at the Haga Park in Stockholm.

King Felipe of Spain was in Granada on September 6th as he watched his country's basketball team take on Senegal in the sport's World Championships which are currently taking place in the city.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway continued her work with charity Fretex by attending another of their recycling days, this time in Bergen (read more about the days here).

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Prince Henrik ended their summer tour on the yacht, Dannebrog, and came ashore in Copenhagen on September 6th. They later held a dinner for the yacht's officers.  On September 7th 2014, Prince Henrik attended a concert marking the 20th anniversary of the Schubert Company in Roskilde. Prince Laurent of Belgium took part in commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Anvers on September 7th 2014.
