Kate is about to bump her way onto the front pages again as baby number two approaches
There's a good chance that this new royal could well arrive on another big royal day this month. April 21st 2015 will be the 89th birthday of the Queen who earlier this year became the oldest monarch in the world. While there are no special celebrations planned for the big birthday if baby Cambridge arrives on that day and is a princess then the odds on her being called Elizabeth will plummet to almost non existent.
The Queen will turn 89 on April 21st 2015
But it's likely that before we meet the newest royal in town, another big anniversary will have passed. On April 9th, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall celebrate ten years of marriage. The couple married in Windsor in a ceremony that caused plenty of debate at the time.
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary in April 2015
The beginning of April will also mark the tenth anniversary of the reign of Albert II of Monaco while the end of the month will see the first king the Netherlands has known in over a century marking two years on the throne.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima will mark two years since his accession on April 30th 2015
But, let's face it, there's just one royal story in town this April. Anticipation is already sky high and will only increase as the month goes on. Kate's great wait is almost over and the birth of her second child is a regal event that will take some topping for headlines in 2015. When April ends the name, face and weight of the new fourth in line to the throne will be so familiar we'll wonder how we ever didn't know. It's just one of the reasons that this April is filled with a sens of royal great expectations.
