Royal Engagement: Harry and Meghan's first photocall

Could they look more loved up? Just hours after confirming the news that we all wanted to hear, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared for a photocall at the palace they will call home as newlyweds. It was short, it was sweet and it was super romantic.

The couple met the media for the first time since their engagement was confirmed this morning in a statement from the Prince of Wales in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace, one of the favourite spots of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Diana was being remembered in another way, too. Meghan was wearing an engagement ring featuring three diamonds - one from Botswana and two from the personal collection of the late princess.

The photocall was very brief but Harry had enough time to confirm he was thrilled to be getting married while Meghan was very, very happy.

The prince also told reporters he knew Meghan was ''the one'' on the first day he met her while promising details of the proposal later - their engagement interview is on TV this evening.

Meghan's life as an official royal fashion icon got under way with a cream coloured coat, nude shoes and the hint of a green dress. It was all knocked out by the smile so who's worrying today.

They disappeared within minutes with their arms around each other. The royal life of this happy couple is well and truly and officially under way.
