A Princess Marries
It's Princess Eugenie's last night as a single woman. Tomorrow, the granddaughter of the Queen becomes the first princess of her generation to say 'I do' and the flags are already flying at Windsor. As Eugenie gets ready for her wedding, let's look forward to her big day.
Eugenie Victoria Helena of York, second daughter of Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, will marry Jack Christopher Stamp Brooksbank, elder son of George and Nicola Brooksbank on October 12th 2018 at St. George's Chapel, Windsor. They announced their engagement in January after Jack proposed in Nicaragua and went on to present his fiancee with a padparadscha sapphire engagement ring.
The bride, ninth in line to the throne, will be accompanied by her big sister and maid of honour, Princess Beatrice, and six bridesmaids - Princess Charlotte, Savannah Phillips, Isla Phillips, Maud Windsor, Mia Tindall and Theodora Williams. There are also two pageboys - Prince George and Louis de Givenchy while Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn are 'special attendants'.
The groom will have the support of his little brother, Tom, as he waits at the altar as he's asked him to do the duties as best man. The service starts at 11am and will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor. It will feature music from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Andrea Bocelli.
The bride has already said her dress is by a British designer and she is expected to borrow a tiara for the occasion, with the smart money being on the York tiara which her mother wore at her own wedding in 1986.
After the ceremony, the couple will take a short carriage ride around Windsor before heading back to the castle for a reception hosted by the Queen. There will be another party at Royal Lodge later in the day, with Andrew and Fergie as hosts.
