All the Queen's Christmas Trees: Windsor Castle

It's the star of all the royal Christmas trees, the one to really marvel at. The tree at Windsor Castle shines and sparkles like no other and this year is no exception. Welcome to the most glittering of all the Queen's Christmas trees.

The setting helps somewhat. Yes, a palace is a palace is a castle is a palace but St. George's Hall at Windsor has a grandeur all of its own. As is traditional, the tree has been placed at the top of the room, decorated with lights and baubles and showcased by two glittering garlands on either side. There's also a smaller, more discreet tree (in royal terms) in the Crimson Drawing Room at the castle.

And just to get into the real spirit of Christmas, the royal residence has opened its doors to local school children to let them enjoy the decorations. They brought their own festive feel to the event, reading stories and poems beneath  this most magnificent of all trees as this rather lovely tweet from St. George's School testifies.  Visitors to Windsor Castle can see the decorations there until January 6th 2019.
