Mary stands the test of time

For a woman who became a fashion icon across Europe, it was a famous and unexpected fashion let down.  While the wedding dress worn by Letizia Ortiz as she became Princess of Asturias was classic and elegant, it wasn't the wardrobe wow many had expected.  And ten years on, it's still not making much of a mark.  In the recent poll to pick the wedding dress that had best stood the test of time ten years on from the double royal marriage mania of May 2004, it was Mary of Denmark who grabbed the votes.

The creation of Uffe Frank which Mary Donaldson wore to her wedding in Copenhagen on May 14th 2014 won 74% of the vote while the Manuel Pertegaz dress made for Letizia Ortiz took 26 % of the ballots.

While both are part of the historic images of the two weddings that dominated royal Europe in 2004, it appears that the outfit that won the most fans back then is still winning hearts now.  Ten years on, it's Mary's dress which is still wowing.
