Maxima goes really green

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands has taken going green to new levels.  Not only did she appear at a concert dressed from head to foot in green, her frock was the ultimate example of royal recycling.  Because the dress had first been worn by her mother in law, Beatrix, several decades earlier.

The queen was at a concert for National Liberation Day on May 5th 2014 where she wore the green dress with silver platform heels and a swish up do.  Princess Beatrix was in blue but recognised the outfit which she had once shown off at an official event herself.

Plenty of royals around Europe have been trying out the recycling vibe in recent months with lots of outfits making two, three or even four appearances.  But Queen Maxima has really set the bar high with this example of regal going green.
