A new way of holidays

Much has changed in the Spanish monarchy since the start of summer and as the season reaches its height, yet more changes have appeared.  The new king and queen and their children have posed for more photos - this time on a trip to Raixa where they learned about the area's ecology and history at a famous tourist attraction.  While they made similar trips as Prince and Princess of Asturias, by doing it as monarchs it takes on the feel of a new tradition.  All change.

King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia on holiday on August 11th 2014

Posing in front of the blue of the Mediterranean, the family looked happy and relaxed.  The photo call also saw them touring exhibitions and speaking to resident experts before taking a walk in the countryside for more snaps.

Sunshine and stories - an educational day out for the Spanish royals

The family has been high profile since arriving in Mallorca last week.  There was the expected photo session at the Marivent Palace as well as glimpses of them all having dinner in a local restaurant and enjoying trips out to see with Queen Sofia.

These royal children mean business - Leonor and Sofia make working holidays fun

In past years, there have been questions over how much Letizia really enjoyed being in Mallorca and this time last year she and Felipe were the subject of questions over the state of their marriage after she disappeared surprisingly quickly from the island and King Juan Carlos brought her daughters back to Madrid.  What a difference a year makes.  There are no questions over happiness this year - the only answers still being sought are where else the family might be seen this summer as their time in Mallorca comes to an end.
