Victoria fades into history

Her time is almost done. For over a century, she has held the title of longest reigning monarch in our history. Now her record is about to be surpassed by Elizabeth II, her great, great granddaughter. She gave an age her name and ruled an empire on which the sun never set but now she is takes another place in history as the second Elizabeth era stakes its claim on longevity and stability. Victoria remains a giant in British history and a legend in royal annals but now she must make way as the second longest reigning queen and monarch we have known. The light fades and a new star shines.

Queen Victoria
Reigned 1837 - 1901
