Who will top this week's style poll?
Queen Letizia gets two nods this week for two very different outfits. You'll have to go all the way to the end to see her other contribution but we start this week's Royal Wardrobe with a very daring fashion choice that is either cutting edge or reminiscent of an avocado bathroom suite. You decide. This dress with cape, yep WITH cape, was worn to an awards ceremony in Alcala de Henares at the start of the week. Full marks for an on trend colour and toning it right down with pale snakeskin shoes. But despite the colour co-ordination and rather skilled flapping of said cape one question remains. Does it actually work? It's definitely not a dress that is going to take or get a lot of rewears but does that make it a hit or miss?
Kate was all about royal recycling this week. We got two rewears of suits seen early on in her life as a duchess but the most striking was this purple jacket and flared skirt, worn to the Guild of Health Writers Conference at the end of a busy day in London. It's a simple look with a twist in that very flared skirt and the pleated peplum is an added delight. OK. the all black accessories are a bit of a let down and it's perhaps more day than evening but this was a serious event and too much sparkle would have been trouble here. Purple reigns for Kate.
Queen Maxima of the Netherlands rewore one of her best loved outfits this week during her visit to Germany - it's so popular, how could it not make the Royal Wardrobe countdown? The statement sleeves on this aqua outfit are still spot on while the cut and colour are super chic. Maxima's cream hat and bag are the perfect match as is the vintage aquamarine sparkling away on the jacket. The ankle strap perhaps isn't the best idea for the shoes but other than that, this is a win all round. No wonder Maxima keeps going back to it. It's kind of irresistible and only she could get away with satin on a day out at an energy exchange.
months away from summer but Crown Princess Mary is all ready to dare to bare. She stepped out this week in an off the shoulder top with, you've guessed it, statement sleeves for an awards presentation with the Danish Cancer Society in Copenhagen. Mary knows how to work these attention grabbing trends, keeping everything simple in plain black to allow the shoulders and sleeves to shine. The knockout necklace adds enough distraction to stop this top making everyone wonder if she was freezing cold. A stellar look from Mary. Again.
It's that fashion icon queen again. Letizia's other star turn in this week's Royal Wardrobe is her latest take on that chic staple, the little black dress. It is, in fact, a little black two piece and where do we start with the admiration? How about the feather embellishment on the front of the skirt? Like Mary, Letizia's kept the colour simple and let the clothes do the talking. We've got a perfectly cut skirt with panels to keep it structured and neat matching trims on the sleeves. Oh, and the hair. That updo with plaits is pretty spectacular as are the earrings. A great look from Letizia in a strong week for the Royal Wardrobe.
All you have to do now is pick your favourite - the poll is at the top of the page, results here on Tuesday.
