The Queen has reverted to one of the most popular bridal flowers to mark her wedding anniversary but she's done it in a very queenly fashion. Queen Camilla wore a brooch made to look like lily of the valley for the official portraits celebrating twenty years of marriage with King Charles.
The sparkling posy is pinned to a pure white coat dress that makes up the anniversary outfit of the queen consort. It shows a sprig of lily of the valley - a flower used in many marital bouquets. t is taken as a symbol of happy marriages so it's the perfect tribute. But the brooch has several other sentimental meanings for the couple marking two decades of married life.
This gem, created by Faberge, originally belonged to the Queen Mother, the beloved grandmother of King Charles. His Majesty gave Queen Camilla an art deco diamond ring from his granny's collection when he proposed and his consort has made several other pieces used by the Queen Mum into staples of her own jewellery box. But this brooch is a bit of a favourite and was also worn by Queen Camilla for the wedding of her daughter, Laura.
The wedding anniversary portraits were taken in Rome by Chris Jackson on April 7th 2025 as the King and Queen arrived ahead of a State Visit to Italy. The couple will spend their anniversary, on April 9th, in the Eternal City, a perfect place for romantics with The Queen already showing her own eye for love with this sweet and sparkling tribute.
