Peter Phillips to marry his girlfriend, Harriet Sperling, as royal wedding announced

 

Peter Phillips is to marry his girlfriend, Harriet Sperling. The couple announced their plans in Hello magazine.

Peter, 47, is the only son of Princess Anne and the eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II. His fiancée is an NHS nurse as well as a freelance writer. The couple have been dating for around 18 months. Over the summer, they have been seen at a number of high profile events with Harriet joining Peter in the carriage procession at Royal Ascot. They were also in the royal box at Wimbledon on the same day that Queen Camilla visited.

The announcement came in Hello magazine with two photos of the couple. Harriet was wearing an all diamond engagement ring on her left hand. The King and Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales were informed beforehand and are said to be delighted with the news.

There's no date yet for this royal wedding and a location hasn't yet been revealed. Peter Phillips was divorced from his first wife, Autumn, in 2021. He has two daughters, Savannah, 14, and Isla, 12.
