The thing about royals having their own social media is that they get to control the narrative. Yes, you have to be on it and make sure the story you're telling is worth hearing and that can be hard. But it also provides open goals and if you're smart, like Queen Mary of Denmark, you take them. Hence Mary's Disney Princess phase.
There's nothing not to love about the stunning photos that the Danish royals shared of Mary and the man she walks around her kingdom with, Frederik, that have just been added to the newest version of regal chronicles, social media.
Mary and Frederik are seen enjoying the fireworks that accompanied the first gala dinner of their royal summer tour of Denmark. Frederik might well be the king (and let's face it, there's one star player in this power couple and it's not the one born royal) but it's Mary who's the focus and a queen in silhouette gazing at fireworks is about as image friendly as it gets.
That's the thing about being royal. Sometimes, there are hard bits and sometimes there are easy bits and if you make the most of the easy bits then the hard bits don't always hit so hard. Hence Mary out on deck after a long day, smiling serenely at the sky as the last of the light fades and the fireworks go off. It's giving Disney princess all the way and that's when royal social media really works. You get a good image and you run with it and suddenly, it all seems fine.
