Queen Camilla brings back memories of her Coronation with latest style statement

The Queen has evoked memories of the biggest royal moment of her life as she chose a dress in red, white and blue. The outfit selected by Queen Camilla for her latest summer appearance echoed the motifs chosen by Her Majesty for her Coronation.

Queen Camilla wore the dress for a visit to York Racecourse. She is its patron and has now taken to visiting regularly during the summer. She appeared on Ladies' Day and was once again filled with praise for the course during her time at its Ebor Festival. As it was an official visit, there were jobs to be done including presenting prizes and meeting jockeys, staff and supporters. And all while wearing red, white and blue.

The dress in question is particularly reminiscent of the art work on the Coronation logo and the elaborate patterns used on the official invitation to the event which took place at Westminster Abbey on May 6 2023. Queen Camilla clearly has a penchant for red, white and blue, a trait last seen in all its glory at the State Dinner for the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, held at Windsor Castle in July. There, Queen Camilla chose a white dress with a sapphire tiara while the Princess of Wales stood at her side in a dramatic red dress with cape while wearing the diamond and pearl Queen Mary's Lover's Knot Tiara.

Queen Camilla added an unusual hat. The trilby style piece, in cream, echoes past choices from Her Majesty who tends for this shape on lower key appearances at the races. It adds a real character to the whole outfit. And as she's the queen consort, there was also a special gift for Camilla at this outing. She was given the first jar of honey made by the bees now being kept at the racecourse. A sweet ending for a day that brought back all the memories.
