Kate sails back into royal duties

The Duchess of Cambridge famously beat her husband not once, but twice, in yacht races around Auckland Harbour on their tour of New Zealand so it was no surprise to see her at the National Maritime Museum in London to help launch a search for a team to try and win the America's Cup in 2017.  Sailor Kate has given her backing to a campaign to bring together a crew that will be guided by one of Britain's greatest ever Olympians, Sir Ben Ainslie.  And the duchess looked suitable nautical while she was on duty, donning white and navy for a morning in the sunshine.

Kate got a good look at the trophy that Sir Ben is hoping to win - and hoping she brings him some luck as Britain has never taken the Cup since the competition started in 1851.

Kate gives her backing to the latest attempt to win the America's Cup by a British team

Kate is a keen sailor and is said to be keen to see Britain win one of the most famous yachting competitions in the world.  She also gave her backing to High Street fashion on this outing, choosing an outfit by Jaegar which immediately became a fashion must have.  But while the breeze caught her hair, it's yet to be seen whether Kate's backing for the British attempts to win the America's Cup will have the wind in its sails.
