The irresistible Queen

At the age of 88, in an age of renewed interest in royalty and with several high profile younger royals getting global attention, Elizabeth II is reigning over all of them.  Because the Queen's latest visit - her trip to France - has put her on the cover of several magazines this week.  In fact, it has put her on the front of more magazines than any other royal on the continent.  As one of the publications that has featured her on their cover says - no one can resist Elizabeth II.

In a week filled with royal news, no one else comes close to dominating the headlines as Elizabeth II stars on magazine covers across Europe

The State Visit was filled with memorable images as the Queen enjoyed a garden party in Paris in June then took the world's most romantic city by storm as she opened a flower market named in her honour.  Then there was the stunning, sparkling State Dinner and quite possibly the royal outfit of the year so far as Elizabeth II returned to the Elysee Palace in pale pink for an audience with President Francois Hollande.

And while Princess Letizia's preparations to become queen of Spain grabbed some headlines and Princess Leonore's first visit to Sweden took some others, it was the three days in France for Elizabeth II that really got everyone talking.  The longest ruling monarch in Europe is cutting back her overseas travel as she gets older but given the reaction to her latest trip, it will be a long time yet before the interest in Elizabeth II quietens.
