The blossoming of a queen

In the warm air of a Moroccan summer, beneath flowering trees amidst the scent of petals, a queen has begun to blossom.  Wearing blush pink and looking more confident than she ever has, Letizia of Spain suddenly seemed to find her feet.  In the past, the queen has been criticised for seeming ill at ease in public, for being cold, for being nervous.  At the end of her presentation tour of Morocco, this consort has the confidence of a queen.

On the second day of her visit with King Felipe, the Spanish queen spent time at a hospital for cancer patients and met some of those being treated as well as the staff looking after them.  Queen Letizia was totally at ease throughout the visit before being reunited with her husband for an official farewell with their hosts.

On day one of the visit, the royal couple had been given an official welcome by the King and Queen of Morocco before they attended a dinner in their honour and a first chance to see Letizia, as a queen, in evening wear.

During the morning of day two, King Felipe VI held several meetings with political leaders.  In the four weeks since he took the throne, the king has shown himself settling into the role to which he was born. But on this tour of Morocco, it's clear that his wife has also assumed her new role with ease - the blossoming of a queen.
