5 times Kate has worn checks

Kate definitely had a look this Christmas. For her trips to church at Sandringham, there was a definite check theme going on. It's not been a regular style choice by the Duchess of Cambridge, until now, but as Kate makes it her New Year look, here are 5 times she's worn checks.

One of Kate's final engagements of 2015 was to a centre run by one of the charities she supports, Action on Addiction. And for her visit she wore a new check coat that became an instant royal classic.

What does a Duchess wear to play football while launching a coaching programme? A grey and white check summer dress, of course. Here's Kate in July 2012 playing footie in a rather pretty frock.

Kate and William welcomed the President of Singapore and his wife to Britain at the start of their State Visit in 2014 - it was the Duchess of Cambridge's first appearance since the confirmation of her second pregnancy. And Kate chose a check two piece with a bit of a Fifties feel for the event.

Christmas 2015 was all about checks for Kate and her mauve effect two piece on the last Sunday of December was wintry and rather wonderful.

For a trip to Glasgow while pregnant with George, Kate chose a tartan coat with big brass buttons and ended up stealing the show
