Harald and Sonja's Happy Jubilee

A king in a baseball cap and a royal family brimming over with emotion - the Jubilee of King Harald and Queen Sonja has been a pretty perfect royal day. From the solemnity of the Royal Palace Chapel to the excitement and elation of the Royal Palace Winter Games, every second has been a celebration of a reign that has now lasted 25 years.

King Harald and Queen Sonja ended their special day with a stroll through Oslo where they were greeted by thousands of people who took to the streets of Norway's capital to celebrate with their monarch and his consort. They were accompanied by their family but the biggest cheers were for them and at times they seemed almost overcome with the emotion of it all.

The royal couple were also joined by the Queen of Denmark and the King and Queen of Sweden for the final act of Jubilee Day - a concert at the University of Oslo. But before they took their seats, they took the plaudits of the crowds - the walk from the Royal Palace to the University was one of the highlights of the day as the king, still in his baseball cap, and the queen, in a royal blue cape, were given the warmest of welcomes.

The concert included a specially composed piece of music called 'Hail, Long Live the King and Queen'. With opinion polls giving them sky high approval ratings, Harald and Sonja have had a truly Happy Jubilee.
