How Victoria celebrates her birthday

July 14th marks the birthday of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden which means singing, speeches, a crown of flowers and some great photos. The heir to the throne always makes a couple of appearances on her big day and this year will mark another first in the birthday celebrations of this princess as she will have her son, Prince Oscar, to join in the festivities for the first time. In anticipation of Victoria's Day, here's a look back at how she's marked her birthday since she turned thirty.

Last year, Victoria's birthday was all about her tummy and Estelle with an umbrella. While the littlest princess looked super cute running around with her brolly, quite a lot of eyes were fixed on the floral waistband of her mum's dress. This was the appearance that got pregnancy rumours going - the proved to be right and this year Oscar of Sweden could well be joining Victoria, Daniel and Estelle for the annual speech where King Carl XVI Gustaf comes over all proud dad and everyone else looks faintly embarrassed.

There's usually an evening celebration as well where Victoria and Queen Silvia don traditional outfits. In 2014 they were glad of it as July 14th turned out to be very wet and while they were covered up in their costumes, everyone else needed to reach for the rain macs.

Earlier in the day, during the annual speech and singing part of the day, Victoria had posed for perhaps one of the sweetest family photos of her with her parents, husband and daughter. Queen Silvia actually couldn't look prouder than she does right here.

In 2013, King Carl XVI Gustaf was on top form for his daughter's big day. Not only did he wear incredibly red trousers, he also went walkabout with the microphone. Look at the grins, they are fixed.

The year before had been Victoria's first birthday as a mummy and her little girl, Estelle, completely stole the show. The new mother didn't care a jot, gazing lovingly at her daughter all the way through the appearance.

In 2011, pregnancy rumours were reaching fever pitch as Victoria stepped out to celebrate her birthday. Confirmation that the heir was expecting her own heir would come weeks later. In the meantime, the Swedish Royal Family tried to distract everyone with this rather cunning alternating umbrellas trick.

In 2009, Daniel Westling made his first appearance at the birthday celebrations as the fiance of Crown Princess Victoria. They had announced their engagement in February that year. Victoria looked loved up in lilac as she accepted the traditional floral garland and the royal sweethearts stole the show.  There would be no appearance the following year as they couple were on honeymoon.

Showing she's still a daddy's girl at heart, the Crown Princess of Sweden gave the country's king a huge hug at the Victoria Day celebrations in 2008. It would be the last time she celebrated her birthday before announcing her engagement and this day was all about Victoria and her parents. the King and Queen of Sweden who oversaw a rule change that allowed their little girl to grow up in line to be a monarch.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden turned 30 in 2007 and the celebrations were big enough to match the milestone birthday. And it was mum who was on hand to add the finishing touch to the most special moment of they day, crowning the baby she had welcomed three decades earlier with flowers. Victoria, daughter, wife, mother and future queen.
