There was definitely no need to give this queen any flowers today. There was a show of real floral power from Letizia of Spain at an awards ceremony in Madrid. So now we know flower prints are definitely on trend for this summer.

Begging no one's pardon, Letizia brought her own rose garden to the presentation of the Iberdrola Scholarships in the Spanish capital on a hot summer's day. The dress looked cool and helped with the cover up needed in the warm sun. And it was up there with the boldest of the Spanish queen's looks.

The pink and green print was teamed with cream shoes and a bright pink bag which all sounds quite odd but which went unnoticed as the pattern on the dress dominated everything.

These awards are to help people with their studies of energy and the environment and  in his speech, King Felipe talked of the importance of getting the right balance between protecting society and protecting the environment.

Maybe it was the focus on all things green that prompted this queen to hit the flower power trend for the day, But whatever the reason, there was no doubt that Letizia was feeling floral today.
