A prince does pop pickers

Prince Charles has come over all pop pickers as Christmas approaches and come up with his own top 10 highlights of the year. His website is now showing the royal memorable moments form 2013 and perhaps in a sign that Charles is moving from son and heir to patriarch in waiting, most of the stories on the list are about his children.  Prince Harry's visit to the South Pole, the Cambridges with Harry at Warner Bros coming over all Harry Potter and Prince William singing with Taylor Swift and Jon Bon Jovi all make the list.

But no prizes for guessing what the prince's highlight of the year is for 2013. In the words of the proud grandfather, it's the arrival of a 'bouncing baby boy'.  Prince George of Cambridge is the main moment of the royal family's year and Charles can't contain his pride at the arrival of the future of his first grandchild.  While the other items on the top ten are packed with information on the event, the number one spot features a lovely christening photo and the prince beaming with happiness about being a granddad.  Sometimes, matters of state can wait.  Every now and again, and especially at Christmas, it's better to just say 'ah'.
