Juan Carlos leaves hospital

The King of Spain is back home at the Zarzuela Palace this evening after being discharged from hospital exactly a week after an operation on his left hip which had become infected.  Juan Carlos will have to go back for further surgery in the coming months but as he left the Quiron clinic in Madrid, he said he was feeling well and all was going marvelously.

He certainly looked much better than a week ago, leaving the hospital just a few minutes after his doctors announced that he had been given the all clear to carry on his recuperation at home.  It means queen Sofia won't have to make the regular trip to the Quiron to see her hubby any more.  But it does also mean she's got a grumpy man under doctor's orders in the house.  Oh dear.
