The official photographs of the christening of Prince George have just been released. The four portraits show the present and the future of the House of Windsor and call to mind its past, when it was still the House of Hanover but with the roots of the newer tree already taking hold. The most eagerly awaited of the snaps, all taken by Jason Bell, recreates that famous photo of Victoria with the two men and one little boy lined up to inherit her throe. The other thee photographs show a happy family on a happy day. They will become some of the most famous images in British royal history. But tonight they are a first look at a future dynasty.
