Sofia's turn to cheer

Infanta Sofia of Spain watches Real Madrid go through to the Champion's League final with her dad

It's only fair that both sisters got a turn for a night at the football with dad. Last week, Princess Leonor headed off to see Atletico Madrid's first leg semi final match in the Champions' League with King Felipe VI. And last night, as Real Madrid took on Manchester City in the second leg of their game, it was Infanta Sofia who accompanied dad to the footie.

The second in line to the throne of Spain arrived at the Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid just before kick of with her dad and got a lesson in hand shaking and official welcomes before heading into the stands to take her seat. And Sofia was an attentive fan, watching every moment of the game and listening intently as Felipe VI got quite carried away with explanations.

Learning from dad - Sofia during her first big trip to the football

The royals got the result they were hoping for as Real Madrid won the game and the overall tie and headed through to the final where they will play Atletico in an all Spanish clash that is just crying out for some royal representation. But it's being played in Milan which means it's not  quite so easy for either of the royal daughters to pop along. We'll have to wait and see whether Leonor, Sofia or their parents make the trip to Italy for the big game. But in the meantime, it's a full time one all draw for Spain's royals when it comes to going to the football with dad.
