Charlotte's close up

We'll get a really good look at how the fourth in line to the throne is growing up when the official photographs, taken by Mario Testino, are released but the christening of Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge has already offered plenty of chances to get a proper glimpse of how Prince George's little sister is getting on.

The baby princess was snapped several times in her vintage pram as she was brought to the Church of St Mary Magdalene at Sandringham for her christening. And first indications are that she looks very like George at the same age.

There's the same hint of dark hair and dark eyebrows which eventually went blonde for her brother but the most noticeable feature is the deep colour of her eyes. Just like George, she seems to have inherited her mum's brown eyes rather than daddy's blue. And carrying on a family tradition, she is very, very like her maternal grandfather right now - another mini Michael Middleton, following the same path her brother took in his early months.

Charlotte is several weeks younger than George was when he was christened so there was no chance to see her holding her head up as the third in line to the throne did when he was brought to his baptism. But the images of them both in their mothers arms are very similar - it seems that Kate and William have got themselves two little peas in a pod.
