Stand by everyone, Prince Harry has some news for you and you need to make space in your diary in 2018 right now. He's made a video announcement about a big event then and he wasn't alone while he did it. You need to keep 18 - 29 October that year free - Harry is taking the Invictus Games to Sydney right then,
The announcement of the fourth set of Games comes in a week when we've heard a lot from and about Harry. In the video message making the announcement, the prince makes sure we all concentrate on a subject that he's already confirmed time and again is close to his heart - the Invictus Games. And he was joined by Australian pop star, Kylie Minogue, to really make sure the message gets across. Invictus is what it's all about.
The fourth Invictus Games will be held at some of the best known locations in the Australian city including the Olympic Park and around Sydney Harbour. It's expected that over 500 athletes from 17 nations will take part in the event. Sydney will follow London, which hosted the inaugural Games in 2014 and Orlando, which was the site of the hugely successful 2016 event as well as Toronto which will welcome Invictus and its athletes next year.
Speaking about the Games in the video, Prince Harry said that ''the Invictus Games has shown us what can be achieved when wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women rediscover their fighting spirit through sport...we were all inspired.'
And this was very far from a traditional royal announcement. Once the big news was shared, Harry got his hands on a surf board, took that call from Kylie before leading Invictus stars off into a lift. You want showbiz, this is your prince. In a week when he's made plenty of headlines, Harry's name ensures anything associated with it gets plenty of attention. By releasing this latest news about Invictus now, the prince has guaranteed huge interest in a subject very close to his heart indeed.
