King Felipe and Queen Letizia split day two of their State Visit to Portugal between two of the country's most famous cities - Porto and Lisbon. From a morning of modern science to an afternoon and evening of State Visit tradition, this was a tour that had it all. Welcome to day two of Felipe and Letizia in Portugal.

The King and Queen of Spain started the day at the Science and Technology Park at the Unviersity of Porto where they heard about the work of the organisation and visited some start up stands.

Felipe and Letizia then took part in a roundtable discussion about several areas of health being studied in particular at the Investigation and Innovation in Health Institute there.

State Visits mean food and by midday, it was time for the royal visitors to sit down to an official lunch put on by the Municipal Chamber of Porto. King Felipe gave a speech praising businesses and entrepreneurs for their work in 'job creation, economic progress and greater prosperity in Portugal and Spain'.

The Spanish State Visit then made its way to the capital of Portugal where Felipe and Letizia were given another official welcome and presented with the keys to Lisbon.

The evening saw the couple attend an official dinner in their honour, hosted by the Prime Minister of Portugal, Antonio Costa in the 18th century Palace of the Necessities.

King Felipe gave another speech, this time talking about the harmony between Spain and Portugal as he raised a toast to his hosts.

The last day of the State Visit, November 30th 2016, will be spent in Lisbon.
