Who doesn't love a bit of red at Christmas? The most wonderful time of the year needs a dash of scarlet and a pop of crimson to make it feel, well, Christmassy. And Princess Charlene's red coat, chosen for a Christmas party in Monaco, shows that red really is the colour for this time of the year as it topped the Royal Wardrobe poll for the week just gone.

Charlene kept the whole Santa thing going with a dash of white beneath the coat's collar while the gold shoes were on trend and adding the requisite amount of Christmas sparkle. But it was the red that won it.

OK, it's a glorious coat with a chic cut and a shape that it would be hard not to make work. But Charlene turned it into a Christmas cracker and tops the poll. Happy Christmas.
