As December comes a calling, it's time to get sparkly and the royal ladies of Europe are already in the party spirit. We've had some glittering gowns across the continent in the past week so this week's Royal Wardrobe is all about putting on the glitz. There are four shimmering selections to enjoy and, as always, a poll on the main page for you to pick your favourite. Welcome to a sparkling Royal Wardrobe.

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands went for green Valentino for a concert given by her guests on day two of the State Visit by the King and Queen of the Belgians. The column dress is off the shoulder with a draping skirt. Of course with Maxima it was never going to be that simple. The darker shawl adds a striking tone while the necklace is standout and combines to make a dazzler of a look to get the Christmas party started.

Queen Mathilde added the other festive element by wearing red to the same concert on November 29th. This off the shoulder, sparkly gown has a flared skirt plus a mini train - when Mathilde does evening, she does evening. The geometric pattern adds texture while the whole shape suits this queen consort to perfection. Red is the colour for Mathilde.

Queen Letizia kept the red to the lipstick for her evening outing on day one of her State Visit to Portugal but the black lace dress was a Christmas cracker all the way. There's nothing not to love about the sheer dress with its flouncy skirt and fitted top, it's just beautiful. Add in the slicked back hair and the minimal accessories and you have a sparkler and then some every day of the week.

Princess Anne kept the festive party going in a wow of a green gown worn for the Team GB ball in the week. The elegant dress with its three quarter sleeves, scoop neck and fitted skirt is a sparkle spectacular and Anne added the old world royal charm with a simple set of pearls. This is a sparkling standout selection to really get everyone in the Christmas mood.
