Royals at Christmas: December 17th, looking loved up

Christmas can bring out the romantic in all of us as the card sent by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall this year proves. We weren't expecting this couple, who celebrated their tenth anniversary this year, to go all lovey dovey on us but that's just what they did. They lead today's countdown which features five times the royals have gone soppy on a Christmas card.

The look of love - Charles and Camilla have a cuddle for Christmas 2015

You can always trust newlyweds to look all gooey eyed and Frederik and Mary managed it for their 2004 card which was taken in Greenland, like you hadn't guessed that bit already

Felipe and Letizia might not have kissed on the balcony after their 2004 wedding but they were looking suitable romantic in their Christmas card that year

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have one of the most enduring relationships in royal history so it's no surprise that their Christmas cards have a lot of love in them, as this one from 1997 shows

And while it might not be romantic love, this card is about as soppy as it gets as Princess Marie joins Prince Joachim and his two sons from his first marriage, Nikolai and Felix, for a Christmas cuteness fest in 1997
