Royals at Christmas: December 5th, sleigh ride time

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? Well, actually there's no sound effects but as we hit the twenty day countdown to Christmas what could be more festive than a quick sleigh ride in the snow. To help us slide easily into the Christmas spirit, here are five royals on sledges.

As part of his 70th birthday celebrations in 2007, King Harald of Norway treated his royal guests ot a sleigh ride in the snow. Picture perfect.

Princess Josephine of Denmark got a helping hand from her mum, Crown Princess Mary, when she hopped on her sleigh during the family's ski-ing holiday in Verbier

Princess Estelle got dad, Daniel, to help when she toured Umea the comfortable way with her parents in January 2014

There was a more ornate sledge for Diana, William and Harry when they went on a snowy trip during a visit to Lech, Austria in 1994

William and Harry's granny looked rather than took part when she met the Slovakian bob sleigh team on a trip to the country in 2008. But while she might not have taken a ride, the Queen certainly looked the most festive of all the royal sleigh fans.
