Royals at Christmas: December 3rd, the Queen's Speech

Day three of the royal countdown brings us to the moment where we are three weeks away from the Queen's Speech. So it seems like a good idea to remember how this big moment of Christmas day has unfolded in the last few years.

In 2014, The Queen reflected on the centenary of the start of World War One with images of her grandparents, George V and Queen Mary, in the background

It was all about George in 2013 as the Queen made her Christmas speech in front of the famous four generations photo from the christening of Prince George with photos of her own parents, Elizabeth and George VI, on either side

The Diamond Queen of 2012. In her special Diamond Jubilee year when the Olympics came to London, the Queen had plenty to reflect on in her annual speech

The Queen was very festive in red as she made her Christmas Speech in 2011

In 2010, the Queen focused on the positive nature of sport as she made her Christmas broadcast from Hampton Court Palace
