Royals at Christmas: December 9th, sparkling stocking fillers

With Christmas Day now just over two weeks away, it's time to finish the shopping and start the wrapping. And while everyone loves a big present, even more of us love a stocking filler especially when it's twinkly and shiny and rather, well, diamondy.   That's never a problem for the queens, princesses and duchesses of Europe.  When it comes to sparkling stocking fillers, these five royal diamond moments take some beating.



When Kate brought her little girl to be christened she was wearing a pair of sparkling diamond earrings by Mappin and Webb which matched her 'Empress' necklace. It was a royal diamond debut for this big day for mum and daughter

For an event marking the anniversary of the newspaper 20minutos this autumn, Queen Letizia chose a particularly impressive pair of diamond drop earrings to go with her smoking jacket style. Class.





Princess Charlene stunned in a pair of Graff diamond earrings this summer when she attended a cocktail party at the Prince's Palace.





With a royal wedding this summer there were more diamonds on display in Stockholm that anyone can realistically count. The bride wore a new tiara and a pair of couldn't miss them at a mile diamond earrings which marked her move to princess in style.






Kate added yet more sparkle in March this year attending a service for the Commonwealth in London, Her Kiki McDonough diamond earrings are about as cool as clear as sparklers get. The perfect stocking filler for a royal.
