Monochrome Mathilde and Maxima

Their royal lives have followed pretty parallel paths and they are good friends - that's clear from seeing them together. Last night, Mathilde and Maxima provided monochrome magic as they stepped out at a music event in Brussels in perfect harmony.

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands headed to the Belgian capital for the final stages of the Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition and a night of music with her good pal, Queen Mathilde of the Belgians. And with Maxima in black (very on trend with a waistcoat style top and long trousers) and Mathilde in white (sparkling and sweet in a cocktail shift dress), it was all picture perfect too.

Earlier in the day, Maxima had had a solo monochrome moment when she took part in another musical event. The Queen of the Netherlands was hearing  more about a scheme that provides musical instruments for children.

The style setter chose a black and white print coat over a bright red dress with matching earrings for the event. But that was just the warm up for an appearance by two queens in Brussels which gave us a magical monochrome medley from Maxima and Mathilde.
