Prince Oscar's christening: the arrivals

Oscar Carl Olof of Sweden at his christening

The christening of Prince Oscar, Duke of Skane is taking place this lunchtime in Stockholm. The third in line to the throne arrived in the arms of his mother, Crown Princess Victoria, with his father, Prince Daneil, and big sister, Estelle at his side. And he had a right royal line up waiting to greet him on his special day.

His royal grandparents, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, arrived after all the other guests for the ceremony at the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia left Prince Alexander at home - he'll be the star of another christening very soon.

They arrived with Chris O'Neill and Prince Nicolas, returning to the Royal Chapel for the first time since his own christening last October

Princess Madeleine is godmother to Prince Oscar - she arrived with her daughter, Princess Leonore, and two of her nephew's godfathers, Oscar Magnusson and Hans Anstrom

Oscar's other godparents included Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark  and Crown Princess Mette-Marit who arrived at the chapel together

Crown Princess Mary was already inside chatting to Crown Prince Haakon Magnus

Prince Oscar made his big arrival with his mum, dad and sister and posed briefly for photos

Inside, the Royal Chapel was decked with regal purple flowers for the new prince of Sweden

During the ceremony he is being presented with the Order of the Seraphim

The Royal Chapel was filled with guests for the ceremony

And the star of the show seemed to be taking it all in on his first big royal occasion

There will be more updates on the christening of Prince Oscar here later today.
