It's a shoe in

The Duchess of Cambridge and the Princess of Asturias often find themselves being compared when it comes to fashion.  But in one area, Letizia is striding ahead.  When it comes to choosing footwear then the princess is putting her best foot forward while Kate is digging her heels in and sticking to what she knows best.

They're back.  After a gap of months, the Duchess of Cambridge is back in her favourite nude heels - when she's not wearing her favourite cork wedges

On day one of her tour of Australia, Kate was back in her nude heels.  The famous LK Bennett shoes were never off the duchess' feet in the early part of her marriage but in the last few months she'd tucked them away in favour of black suede Emmy pumps.  Or cork wedges.  Kate has shown almost as much devotion to her cork wedge heels as she has to her nude heels.  In fact, Kate is mostly seen in three pairs of shoes no matter what the outfit.  Unlike Letizia.

Another day, another outing for the cork wedge heels that the Duchess of Cambridge loves so much

In recent weeks, the Princess of Asturias has tried some pretty fashion forward footwear including peep toe brown leather heels with heel buttons and on trend ankle boots with studs.

At the beginning of her marriage, though, she did stick to a favourite design and was often seen in different versions of the same shaped high heels with platform soles.  In the last years, she has expanded her shoe wardrobe so the future may look very different for Kate's feet.  But then another of Letizia's new shoe looks is very familiar to the Duchess of Cambridge.  One of the latest comparisons between Kate and Letizia on the fashion front came when the Princess of Asturias stepped out - in a pair of nude heels.  The Duchess of Cambridge might get another few years out of her favourite shoes yet.
