Playing cricket in high heels

There are some things that can only happen to a duchess and one of them is having to play cricket in high heels while thousands of people around the world watch on.  The Duchess of Cambridge stepped up to the stumps in Christchurch on the latest stop on her tour of New Zealand and she didn't let a little thing like a pair of three inch heels get in her way.

She's ready for the first over - the Duchess of Cambridge wishing she'd popped a pair of trainers in her bag on her latest tour stop

Her fitted red dress by Luisa Spagnoli probably wasn't ideal cricket wear either but that didn't seem to dampen the duchess' enthusiasm to join in the event marking the Cricket World Cup which is coming to New Zealand in 2015.  And it was all going so well until her husband got a bit carried away and bowled such a fierce delivery at her that she had to give him a telling off.

He didn't do it again - Kate lets her husband know that she isn't happy

The duchess did manage to get the bat to the ball twice before bowing out gracefully.  And while William looked determined to bowl his maiden out, the duchess retired from the pitch undefeated.  And with her high heels in one piece.
