Kate minds the gap

Every new mum's been there.  With less than a week to go before the family's big holiday the to do list is turning into a novel and there's not going to be enough time to do all the washing before heading to the airport.  There's only one answer - a quick dash to the High Street for a few new clothes.  Except when the Duchess of Cambridge does her emergency clothes run she has to take a car load of bodyguards with her and drive to the shops, even though it's less than half a mile from her front door.

Kate of Cambridge will be smiling now she's got some new clothes for her big trip overseas

Prince George did best out of this shopping trip with some rather nice stripey babygrows and a pair of shorts all with his royal name on them. Mum got a couple of things for herself but there was nothing for Prince William there.  All eyes will now be on George to see if he takes after his mum and wears High Street for his first public engagements.

And there's lots on the build up and what to expect from the Royal Tour of New Zealand and Australia here...
